Tracing patterns since 1997

We’ve spent nearly three decades learning how people think, what they want, and why they act

Who We Are

Marketing Advisory Services was founded in 1997 with a clear belief: that good decisions start with good data. Nearly three decades on, that belief hasn't changed — but the complexity of the questions our clients face certainly has.

We are a hands-on research consultancy. We don't believe in one-size-fits-all frameworks or off-the-shelf reports. Every project we take on is built around the specific industry, context, and challenge of the organisation we're working with. We get close to the problem, involve the right people, and deliver insight that is genuinely actionable.

Our work spans qualitative and quantitative research, strategic consultancy, brand analysis, and EU funding support — always with the same goal: to help organisations see clearly and move with confidence.

People Behind the Patterns

Our team brings together expertise across marketing, social science, law, and research — united by a curiosity for what lies beneath the surface.

Daniel founded Marketing Advisory Services in 1997 and has led it ever since. With over 25 years of experience in marketing and a Diploma in Marketing from London City College, he brings a rare combination of strategic vision and practical market knowledge to every client engagement.

What distinguishes Daniel is his instinct for complexity. He has built MAS into a consultancy trusted by some of Malta's most prominent organisations precisely because he understands that no two industries, clients, or challenges are the same. His approach is always tailored, always hands-on, and always focused on delivering results that matter.

Elaine brings academic rigour and real-world research experience to everything she does. Holding a PhD in Marketing from the University of Malta — where she also holds a resident academic post — she bridges the gap between research theory and strategic application in a way few practitioners can.

Over eight years she has led complex market research projects, developed marketing communication strategies, and guided clients through EU funding processes. Her dual role in academia and consultancy gives MAS a depth of analytical thinking that consistently elevates the quality of its outputs.

John approaches consumer research from a perspective most consultancies simply don't have. As a social anthropologist specialising in consumer behaviour, urban culture, and youth culture, he looks beyond the data to understand the deeper social forces shaping how people think and act.

With a PhD in Anthropological Sciences from the University of Malta and seven years of marketing research experience, John adds a dimension to MAS's work that is genuinely difficult to replicate — the ability to ask not just what people do, but why.

Claire ensures that MAS operates with the highest standards of compliance and integrity. A warranted lawyer holding a Masters in Economics of Competition Law from the University of Malta, she provides the legal grounding that underpins the rigour of MAS's work.

Her expertise is particularly valuable in an environment where data collection, client confidentiality, and regulatory requirements are central to every project. Claire is the reason MAS's clients can engage with confidence.

From coordinating focus groups and mystery shopping assignments to managing client accounts and overseeing data collection, Naomi ensures every project is executed with precision and on time. Her contribution spans the full research process.

What sets Naomi apart is her drive to go deeper. Currently pursuing an MSc in Data Science alongside her role at MAS — having graduated with a BA (Honours) in Business Enterprise from MCAST in 2021 — she brings an analytical perspective that is increasingly central to the way MAS interrogates its findings.

Sandra is MAS's eyes and ears in the field. Since joining the team in 2022, she has been actively involved in data collection across a wide range of formats — online surveys, in-person interviews, focus groups, and secondary research.

What Sandra brings is consistency and care. Respondents engage openly with her, and that human quality directly improves the quality of the data MAS delivers to its clients.

Caroline is the person who keeps the business side of the operation running smoothly. From issuing quotations and proposals to managing client communications and chasing payments, she ensures that every client interaction is handled with professionalism and efficiency.

What Caroline brings to MAS is a career's worth of commercial experience. With nearly three decades in export management and a background spanning business development, sales, and executive support across a range of leading organisations, she understands how businesses operate — and what clients expect.
